I do love a world in which the Zarbi get a bigger billing than the Daleks. They get on the cover too! It's been six months since they were on the telly so the publishers clearly think they're memorable. I suppose the other way of reading it is that the Daleks were seen as so indistinguishable from Doctor Who that they didn't need a big billing or a picture but that first novel did come out almost on the eve of The Dalek Invasion of Earth so it really is odd how little that cover milked its monsters. It's almost like they were treating the first novelisation like a real book while they recognised this one for what it was before it had even hit the press. For more on how bad this is, click here.
